Crash Rated Bollards & Barriers

K4 (M30) and K12 (M50) are ASTM F2656 crash ratings. K4 stops a 15,000 lb vehicle at 30 mph; K12 stops one at 50 mph. These replaced the older DOS SD-STD-02.01 designations and are the standard for specifying crash rated bollards at government, military, and critical infrastructure sites.

Crash rated bollards are required at federal buildings (GSA standards), military installations (UFC 4-022-02), embassies, and critical infrastructure. Data centers, hospitals, stadiums, and commercial buildings in high-risk areas increasingly specify anti-ram bollards at vehicle approach points.

Bollards are vertical posts (6"–12" steel pipe) installed in a line. Barriers are larger beam, wedge, or cable systems for wider spans or heavier threats. Both can be crash-rated. Bollards are common at building entries; barriers protect wider vehicle approaches and fence lines.

Yes. We supply removable bollards with locking sleeve receivers — lift out for vehicle access, replace and lock when done. We also supply fold-down bollards. All removable options use the same foundations as fixed crash rated bollards.
